This Texas Hill Country home with all its charm, fits right into its setting. Situated on a large parcel of land covered with wild native flowers, it seems to have been there forever. The owners wanted their home to be indicative of the typical style of homes in the Fredericksburg Texas area. These German style homes were built 200 years ago as immigrants moved into central Texas and found the area all around Fredericksburg to be much like Germany.
The native Austin stone outside and large wooden windows followed the style. Metal roofs were also used by many hill country homes. Entering the home through 10’ tall heart of pine front doors, you immediately feel welcome. The towering 12’ ceiling and wide-open spaces lend themselves to the open space of Texas. With large windows everywhere, it’s easy to feel part of nature as you gaze out the windows across the native flowered lot.
